A member from Bangladesh was forcibly taken from his home on April 30, 2025, by a group of extremist Sunni men and Imams. Video footage and eyewitness reports confirm that he was beaten, insulted, and has not been seen since.

Amnesty International has launched an Urgent Action—its most critical level of emergency response—calling for immediate international pressure on Egyptian authorities to release all detained AROPL members unconditionally.

Two members of the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light, Fateh Bennais and Afaf Ijaouane, are currently being held at a police station in the Assaada neighborhood of Marrakech, Morocco, following their peaceful distribution of flyers.

Following the public statement by Amnesty International, the detained Egyptian AROPL believers have resurfaced. They were presented to the Supreme State Security prosecution, the facility of their detention was disclosed as well as all the names of the detained members arrested in this case.
