Brutal Attack on Kyrgyz Preacher for Peaceful Religious Dialogue

Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan — The Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light strongly condemns the recent physical assault on Solto Kubanychbekovich, a devoted believer from Kyrgyzstan. Solto, a husband, father, and respected social media personality with over 100,000 followers on Instagram, was brutally attacked after engaging in a theological discussion.

On the early morning of June 17, 2025, in the village of Nur Birimdik in the Chüy region, Solto was lured into what he believed to be a respectful debate regarding the Will of the Prophet Muhammad —a foundational document central to the teachings of the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light. What began as a civil exchange soon escalated into violence when the opposing individuals, unable to refute Solto’s reasoned and historically grounded arguments, resorted to threats and physical assault.

Before the attack, the men warned: “Stop talking about these things or we will kill you.” Despite making no offensive remarks about historical Islamic figures such as Abu Bakr or Omar, and focusing solely on the logical and historical validity of the Will, Solto was beaten for his beliefs and his right to speak them.

He later published footage showing his bloodied face, drawing both sympathy and condemnation online.

Alarmingly, many responses from Sunni circles online praised the violence, with some users stating he “got what he deserved” or calling for even harsher measures—demonstrating a dangerous level of sectarian intolerance.

Solto is now in hiding with his wife and daughter, fearing for their lives. He has reported that it is not safe for him to return home due to the environment cultivated by some extremists in the area.

We call on the international human rights community, the Kyrgyz government, and religious leaders of conscience to denounce this attack on freedom of belief and expression. No one should face threats or violence for peacefully sharing their understanding of religious truth.
