The Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light was honoured to attend a high-level event hosted on 8 July 2025 at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), organised as part of the UK Forum on Freedom of Religion or Belief. The event, convened to outline the United Kingdom’s international approach to promoting freedom of religion or belief, brought together government officials, diplomats, and faith-based organisations.
Representing the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light at the event was Hadil El-Khouly, the Human Rights Coordinator of the faith. In line with the mission and values of the religion, El-Khouly expressed the community’s unwavering support for all individuals facing religious persecution, with a particular emphasis on the plight of members of the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light around the world.
The event featured keynote speeches by Lord Collins of Highbury, Minister for Human Rights and Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the FCDO, and David Smith MP, the UK’s Special Envoy for Freedom of Religion or Belief. A video address was also delivered by Nazila Ghanea, United Nations Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Religion or Belief, highlighting global challenges and the need for collective action.
The Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light reaffirms its commitment to working alongside international partners and institutions to advance religious freedom and defend the rights of the oppressed, regardless of faith or background.
