Five members of the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light held a public demonstration in the heart of downtown Toronto on Sunday, December 14, 2025, displaying large banners with messages about divine leadership and the appearance of the Mahdi.

The participants—Denis, Stacy, Shadi, Diana, and Jugraj—positioned themselves in a high-traffic area near a subway entrance and across from the ferry terminal to Toronto Islands. The location was packed with locals, tourists, and people heading to the ferries.

Banners carried slogans including “The Mahdi has Appeared,” “Return to God’s Choice!,” “Only God Can Choose a Leader!,” and “Do Not Vote for Leaders!” The black banners attracted significant attention, with many passersby stopping to take photos and videos.

Encounters varied: several Sunni Muslims approached the group with questions and challenges, asking for proof of the Mahdi’s identity within “five minutes” and inquiring about the significance of the black banners. Other individuals showed interest, accepted flyers, and engaged in conversation.

The group distributed approximately 50 copies of the Mahdi's Manifesto written by Aba Al-Sadiq, additional flyers, candy, and 60 hot dogs to hungry people in the area.
