Mumbai, India – December 15, 2025

A group of 11 members of the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light gathered today at the Gateway of India, one of Mumbai's most iconic and bustling public landmarks, to display banners and posters highlighting the shared truths across different religions and proclaimed that "Allegiance is to Allah".

The participants included four women and seven men: Ghazal Shah Ali, Farah, Fatima, Arbaaz, Aabid, Shereef, Badusha, Hafiz Ajmal, and Tejaswitha. They positioned themselves at the popular tourist site, holding materials that emphasized the potential for unity among various faiths.

Throughout the event, numerous passersby approached the group, expressing interest and surprise at the concept of religions uniting under a common banner. Several individuals asked questions about the Qaim Aba Al-Sadiq Abdullah Hashem, with some mentioning they had previously heard of him.

One elderly woman stopped to speak with the group, voicing amazement and asking:

"Is this really possible? Can this actually happen? May I see this divine just state unify the people in my lifetime?"

A local news reporter from Mumbai also approached, requesting an interview to learn more about the group's beliefs and practices.

While most interactions were positive, one Muslim scholar engaged briefly with the group, asking questions before returning a pamphlet and departing. In contrast, individuals from Hindu backgrounds and other religious communities reacted with hope and encouragement upon hearing that the message included respect for figures like Prophet Mohammed and Lord Krishna.

The event was part of a broader series of similar outreach activities by members of the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light in various countries this December, including Germany, Nigeria, Canada and many countries to follow during this month of Ramadan. In Mumbai, the gathering drew steady attention from the diverse crowd typically present at the Gateway of India, a site known for its mix of locals, tourists, and visitors from different backgrounds.
