The Son of Man: The Promised Savior of Humanity

Some titles in scripture are so important that they deserve special attention. “The Son of Man” is one of those mysterious titles. Many people think they understand it because it is often associated with Jesus Christ. However, this idea usually stems from tradition, rather than a careful reading of the scriptures. When you read passages from Judaism, Christianity, and Islam together, a broader picture emerges. The Son of Man is not just a title in one religion or book. He is part of a larger story found in the Abrahamic faiths: the battle between good and evil, the question of true authority, the fall of a rebellious ruler, and the promise that God will restore creation through a chosen figure in the end times. 

The Struggle Over Rule in Heaven and on Earth 

Scripture shows that God works through chosen agents. For example, the Qur’an says Allah takes souls at death, but also notes the Angel of Death does this. God brings down rain through the Archangel Michael and brings revelations to the Prophets through the Archangel Gabriel. God acts through creatures He creates, and so these acts are attributed to Him. This pattern appears throughout scripture: God sends messages through angels and rules creation through representatives, giving beings special tasks and responsibilities. Thus, sacred texts sometimes say God does something directly and, at other times, a chosen agent does. Yet, the action remains God’s command, even when carried out by someone else on His behalf.

If we take a look at the Book of Job, Satan appears before God’s court and is allowed to test Job with God's permission. From examples like this, we see that Satan still has power: he can accuse, test, and act in the world. He can control the weather, control entire groups of people, influencing them to raid Job’s home and kill his servants. In the Gospels, he offers the rulership and control over all the nations of the world to Jesus if he obeys him as his God. The Mahdi Aba Al-Sadiq revealed that Satan has been ruling the world all this time, a fact that was exposed in the past by Jesus, but buried under false religious interpretations.

In the Qur’an, Iblis refuses to prostrate to Adam as Caliph because he had previously ruled the earth as its creator angel. He makes this clear by saying he is better than Adam, dictating his origin of creation as superior to that of Adam. God gave Satan respite to rule the earth until the Appointed Time, when he will be cast off the throne, punished, and God’s true rulership will be established. Since that time, we have been living in the State of Satan, which explains why this world is so full of suffering and hardship. It is not simply a test from God as religions tell us. We are living on the surface of hell, and we desperately need to establish God’s Kingdom on earth to restore the earth to its original state, an Edenic-like state. The Prophets and Messengers were preparing for this: warning the nations and bringing good news of the kingdom of God. The final hope for believers is not just comfort after suffering, but also the defeat of evil, the removal of the false ruler, and the clear return of God’s rule on earth.

The Fall of the False Ruler and the Promise of the Savior

A powerful ruler once ruled over creation but fell because of pride and rebellion. In Islam, people call this rebel Iblis. In Judaism and Christianity, people refer to him as Satan, Lucifer, or Azazel. He is also the false god posing as God. He was once close to God, creating and ruling on His behalf, but he rebelled and made a promise that he would harm creation. His promise is proving true as billions of people on this earth are suffering gross injustice today. This is why in the Abrahamic traditions, the people await a universal Savior who will eliminate Satan to remove his influence over the earth. This Savior is not only here to save us, but he will also replace Satan in ruling over God’s Creation.

This hope for the end times is critical in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. All three faiths look to the same end. In Christianity, this is the second coming of Christ and the defeat of evil. In Islam, it is the coming of the Mahdi or Qaim who defeats Iblis and brings justice. In Judaism, it is God’s victory and restoration through the Messiah. We are here to give good news to all the people who follow these three faiths of the appearance of the Son of Man. He has not come to prove their religion right. Rather, he came to restore Truth by revealing and restoring the True Religion of the True God. 

Daniel’s Vision of the Son of Man

There is a clear biblical image of this found in Daniel 7. Daniel sees “one like a son of man” coming with the clouds of heaven to the Ancient of Days, and this figure is given authority, glory, sovereign power, and an everlasting dominion. There are two figures in view: the Ancient of Days and the one like a son of man who approaches Him and receives rule.

In the Book of Ezekiel, God refers to Ezekiel as “son of man,” indicating that he is a mortal. But in Daniel 7, the Son of Man is portrayed as a Divine Being rather than simply a mortal. Daniel does not fully reveal who this figure is, but he gives the basic picture that later texts build on: a unique person who appears at a key moment and is given authority by God.

The Books of Enoch Identify Him More Openly

In the Books of Enoch, the Son of Man is described more directly, making the picture much clearer. In 1 Enoch 46, Enoch sees a man-like figure and asks who he is:

“There I beheld the Ancient of days, whose head was like white wool, and with him another, whose countenance resembled that of man. His countenance was full of grace, like that of one of the holy angels. Then I inquired of one of the angels, who went with me, and who showed me every secret thing, concerning this Son of man; who he was; whence he was; and why he accompanied the Ancient of days. He answered and said to me, This is the Son of man, to whom righteousness belongs; with whom righteousness has dwelt; and who will reveal all the treasures of that which is concealed: for the Lord of spirits has chosen him; and his portion has surpassed all before the Lord of spirits in everlasting uprightness. This Son of man, whom thou beholdest, shall raise up kings and the mighty from their couches, and the powerful from their thrones; shall loosen the bridles of the powerful, and break in pieces the teeth of sinners. He shall hurl kings from their thrones and their dominions, because they will not exalt and praise him, nor humble themselves before him, by whom their kingdoms were granted to them. The countenance likewise of the mighty shall He cast down, filling them with confusion. Darkness shall be their habitation, and worms shall be their bed; nor from that their bed shall they hope to be again raised, because they exalted not the name of the Lord of spirits.” (1 Enoch, Chapter 46, Verses 1-4)

In 1 Enoch 48, the description expands further. The Son of Man receives his name before the sun, stars, and heavenly signs come into being. He supports the righteous, brings light to the nations, and gives hope to the troubled in heart. The passage states that he was chosen and hidden before the world began, and that kings and mighty men humble themselves before him. This demonstrates that the Son of Man acts not only as a judge, but also as a source of salvation, support, and guidance for the righteous. 

This is important because it shows that the Son of Man was not just a later Christian idea. Long before the New Testament, this title and description referred to a specific figure with a clear role, authority, and mission.

Isaiah’s Righteous Servant and the Coming Ruler

We could conduct an entire comparative study of these passages and the Book of Isaiah, describing this figure in detail. The shocking parallels are no coincidence and clearly speak about the same figure. As Jesus used the Book of Isaiah as proof that he was the promised Messiah to the children of Israel, it is clear that he knew these prophecies about the Son of Man very well and was teaching the disciples of his future rising.

The Books of Enoch are the clearest about who the Son of Man is, and Isaiah helps explain his mission.

In Isaiah, the Righteous Servant is not just a holy man but God’s chosen agent to restore divine order. God upholds him, puts His Spirit upon him, and sends him to bring justice to the nations, not only Israel. He is also given as a covenant for the people, showing his mission is central to God’s relationship with His chosen ones and to restoring what was broken. He restores Jacob, gathers Israel, while teaching all the nations and ruling over them. He opens blind eyes, brings prisoners out of darkness, and re-establishes what was ruined. Isaiah says kings and princes will prostrate to him and shut their mouths because of him. These passages show a righteous servant of God with global authority, a mission of restoration, and power over rulers.

Isaiah shows the Servant’s mission is both judicial and saving. He will come with a law that the people have been waiting for, and will raise a banner. In Isaiah 11, this Spirit-filled ruler judges the poor with righteousness, decides with equity for the meek, strikes the earth with the rod of his mouth, and kills the wicked with the breath of his lips. The full mission of the Servant in Isaiah is to restore God’s people, spread salvation beyond Israel, humble kings, judge wickedness, free the oppressed, and establish righteousness on earth. Even when he is not called by the title “the Son of Man,” he carries the same kind of end-times mission found in other traditions.

If we put away prejudice and religious envy and wars, we can see that all these religions are awaiting the same exact Ruler to arrive and deliver the earth from Satan and injustice.

3 Enoch Shows Enoch in His Exalted State

If 1 Enoch reveals who the Son of Man is, 3 Enoch describes his exalted state. 3 Enoch describes the process of Enoch being invited into heaven and then transformed from a son of man into an Angel - the Angel Metatron. He is seated at the right hand of God and given great power and authority.

He is described as younger in days than the older heavenly beings, giving him the title of “the Youth.” Enoch was the only angel who was first a human being, then was transformed into a Great Angel by God Himself. Hence, the title The Son of Man. 3 Enoch 12 gives one of the strongest titles in the tradition. Metatron says God “called me the lesser YHWH.” Later, in 3 Enoch 48c, the text says Enoch, the son of Jared, whose name is Metatron, was taken from among the children of men, given a throne, entrusted with wisdom beyond the angels, and placed over all the household above and below.

“Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his master has set over his household, to give them their food at the proper time? Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. Truly, I say to you, he will set him over all his possessions.” (Bible, Book of Matthew, Chapter 24, Verses 45-47)

He is given many other titles that fit the same pattern: the Youth, the Lesser YHWH, the angel of the veil, and the angel of the covenant. In this tradition, Enoch is not just an ancient patriarch. He is the man who was exalted, given a throne, and made the chief heavenly representative under God. He is the Son of Man himself. The one that sits at the right hand of God. The irony of this revelation is that while Satan’s main concern in refusing to obey Adam as the ruler over the earth was that Adam was a human being. Then God chose a man to replace him to rule over the heavens and the earth. 

Michael, Raphael, Gabriel, Phanuel, and the holy angels who were in the heavens above, went in and out of it. Michael, Raphael, and Gabriel went out of that habitation, and holy angels innumerable. With them was the Ancient of days, whose head was white as wool, and pure, and his robe was indescribable. Then I fell upon my face, while all my flesh was dissolved, and my spirit became changed. I cried out with a loud voice, with a powerful spirit, blessing, glorifying, and exalting. And those blessings, which proceeded from my mouth, became acceptable in the presence of the Ancient of days. The Ancient of days came with Michael and Gabriel, Raphael and Phanuel, with thousands of thousands, and myriads of myriads, which could not be numbered. Then that angel came to me, and with his voice saluted me, saying, Thou art the offspring (son) of man, who art born for righteousness, and righteousness has rested on thee. The righteousness of the Ancient of days shall not forsake thee. He said, On thee shall he confer peace in the name of the existing world; for from thence has peace gone forth since the world was created. And thus shall it happen to thee for ever and ever. All who shall exist, and who shall walk in thy path of righteousness, shall not forsake thee for ever. With thee shall be their habitations, with thee their lot; nor from thee shall they be separated for ever and ever. And thus shall length of days be with the offspring of man. Peace shall be to the righteous; and the path of integrity shall the righteous pursue, in the name of the Lord of spirits, for ever and ever.  (1 Enoch, Chapter 70, Verses 11-24)

From reading these holy books, we see that the Son of Man is clearly identified and described as Enoch, giving us a full account of his original story and role in creation and divine rulership.

Jesus Speaks of the Son of Man

If we look closely now at the end times prophecies in the Gospels, as Jesus describes the coming of the Son of Man and his power, the picture becomes clearer that he is referring to the same exact person, the Angel who is now ruling at the Right Hand of God. This is why people continue to debate the title in the New Testament. The text shows that the Son of Man is not just an ordinary person, but it does not clearly explain who he is, nor does it clearly state that Jesus was speaking of himself. In fact, he promised he would send another comforter to the disciples and does not say that it is he who will come to rule. He already came to rule, and we all know what happened to him at the hands of the disbelievers. 

The Same Figure Appears in Islamic Tradition as the Mahdi or Qaim

The wider Islamic tradition extends this pattern further by connecting the end times victory over evil, the restoration of justice, and the rise of divine truth to the Mahdi or the Qaim. Mahdi means Guide and Qaim means Riser in the Arabic language. In Islamic narrations, the Qaim is the one who rises with the truth, defeats evil on earth, restores justice, and establishes the rightful rule of God, raising a Banner that says on it, “Allegiance is to God.”

In that sense, the wider Abrahamic record preserves the same figure through description and role. The names may change, but the mission stays the same.

Imam Al-Sadiq said: “If the Riser rises he shall call the people to a new Islam, and he shall guide them to a matter that was lost and that the people strayed from, and verily the Riser was called a Mahdi [a Guide] because he guides to a matter which is lost, and he was called a Riser because he rises with the truth.” (Bihar Al-Anwar, Al-Allamah Al-Majlisi, Vol. 51, p. 30)

Why This Figure Was Hidden Across Time

At this point, the reason for the confusion is easier to see. The Son of Man was not missing from scripture, but his story was spread out across different texts. He was a treasure that needed to be sought and revealed. One passage shows his authority, another his being chosen, another his role in judgment, another his mission to the righteous, another his exaltation, and another keeps the same role but uses a different title. This is why many people do not notice him. Most readers are used to staying within one tradition, one set of books, and one way of understanding. But the bigger picture only shows up when you look at all the traditions together. All true revelation comes from one source: God and His Prophets and Messengers.

The Son of Man Has Now Appeared

The Son of Man was hidden across time, languages, and traditions until the right time for his revelation. That time is now. The person these writings describe has now appeared and is revealing these truths on his own. His name today is Abdullah Hashem Aba Al-Sadiq. He is the Mahdi, the Qaim, the Righteous Servant, and the Son of Man now revealed in the end times.

He appeared publicly after the death of King Abdullah, as the traditions about the rise of the Qaim indicate, raising the Banner of Guidance, which is written on it, “Allegiance is to God.” His call spread from Egypt into the West, where his matter was openly raised.

This is why the subject is no longer only about ancient books, hidden titles, or old prophecies. It is now about recognition. The Son of Man is no longer hidden only in fragments of scripture. He is here and openly calling people to the Supremacy and Rulership of God. What was once sealed in passages and symbols is now being explained by the one those passages were speaking about all along.

“The Son of Man Is Lord of the Sabbath” - A Hidden Sign

As a sign of his appearance, a hidden clue was given by Jesus in the New Testament Gospels, where he famously says that the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath. This statement was not just about authority in the time of Jesus. It foreshadowed the identity and role of the Son of Man in the end times. Jesus connected the Son of Man to the Sabbath, one of the oldest and most sacred commandments of God. This matters because the Sabbath was never a small issue to God.

Today, Abdullah Hashem Aba Al-Sadiq has restored the ancient commandment of the Sabbath as a holy day for God’s chosen people. The believers in His Call from all nations and backgrounds are now celebrating this holy day as a sign of their allegiance to God and His Appointed Ruler. As he brought the Seventh and final Covenant between God and humanity, he also restored the seventh day of God’s people. This is deeply fitting and extremely significant. The one who brings the final Covenant also restores the sign of the seventh day. For those who understand, this is a sign Jesus left in advance. The Son of Man would not only be recognized by clouds, judgment, and the gathering of the righteous but also by his lordship over the Sabbath and the restoration of God’s ancient commands. This is a powerful detail when placed beside the larger pattern. The Son of Man not only speaks about the kingdom of God but restores the order, signs, and commandments that belong to it.
