Tunisian believers in Aba Al-Sadiq Defy Extremism

Updated: Mar 16

Despite oppression, tyranny, and deceptive propaganda in media circles, the message of the Riser of Truth, Aba Al-Sadiq, continues to gain momentum in Tunisia. Persecution, arrests, and even accusations of terrorism have not deterred members of the faith in AROPL from mounting a determined campaign to spread their message. They remain steadfast in their belief that God's salvation is near, offering hope to those weary of living under oppressive regimes that prioritize personal gain over the well-being of the people.

"They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord. (Jeremiah 1:19)

To gain insight into this movement, we spoke with Mouna, an AROPL believer from Tunisia. She shared her journey to faith and her unwavering commitment to spreading the message despite opposition.

What is your cultural and religious background?

My name is Mouna Al AlMahdy. I was born into a Sunni family, but during my time at university, after extensive research and logical reflection, I converted to Twelver Shia Islam. It was then that I discovered that Ahlul Bayt are God’s strong rope and ark of salvation.

How did you come to the faith? What convinced you of the call? Any dreams, visions, or synchronicities?

I believed I had found the right path, but I noticed a troubling fanaticism among some Shia regarding their scholars' ideologies. I did not follow any scholars, as I found these divisions unsettling. By September 2023, I wrote a letter to the 12th Imam, Mohamed Ibn Alhassan Al Askary, expressing my desire to be with him and his family in both life and death. I placed this letter in the Quran, and soon after, I encountered a video about the call of Aba Al-Sadiq.

Curious, I sought more information and was shocked to realize I had been on the wrong path. This call was undoubtedly divine. The name of the Riser of Truth is mentioned in the will of the Greatest Messenger Muhammad. Furthermore, Aba Al-Sadiq calls people to the supremacy of God while carrying his grandfather’s banner, inscribed with ‘Allegiance is to Allah.’ His divine knowledge is one of the greatest proofs of his appointment by God.

What challenges have you faced in your search for truth?

My first trial came from my husband, a Shia, who refused to investigate the truth. When I told him I was convinced that this call was divine, he became verbally aggressive, and our relationship became strained. My family also dismissed me as foolish.

Such reactions mirror historical patterns:

"They said, ‘Should we believe you while you are followed by the lowest of people?’” (Al-Shu’ara, 42:111)

Have you had any dreams, visions, or synchronicities on your path?

My first dream featured the Yamani, Ahmed Alhassan, teaching me The Goal of the Wise, but with Aba Al-Sadiq’s voice. I have also had lucid dreams where I saw my soul ascending toward the sky.

What have you done since embracing the call? What motivates you to share it?

Since discovering this call, I have worked to change my life, my thoughts, and even my diet. I have become more mindful of my actions and words. My primary motivation for spreading the message is the belief that it offers solutions to political, economic, and religious problems, guiding humanity toward a just and peaceful society.

How have family, friends, and colleagues reacted? How have you structured your street outreach, and what are your long-term goals?

I initially distributed flyers in the streets but later focused on placing them in smaller neighborhoods and on car windshields. However, local Islamists and government officials strongly oppose this call. They have been conditioned by corrupt scholars to distrust anything associated with a black banner.

Imam Sadiq, the 6th holy Imam, once said:

"When the Riser of Truth emerges, he will take revenge on those who issued religious rulings without knowledge. Woe to them and their followers! Was religion incomplete that they sought to complete it, or was it crooked that they sought to correct it?" (Ilzam Nasib, Vol. 2, pg. 197)

How safe is it to spread the call in Tunisia?

"It is extremely dangerous. The arrest of our sister Siwar Hamouda is a clear example of tyranny and oppression. She was accused of terrorism merely for posting materials about our message. Yet nothing can prevent the establishment of the Divine Just State. It is God’s promise that, in these end times, His loyal servants will inherit the earth.

The Tunisian Constitution supposedly guarantees freedom of belief and expression, yet in practice, these rights remain unfulfilled.

"We desired to bestow a favor upon those who were deemed weak in the land and to make them the Imams, and to make them the heirs." (Quran 28:5)

Believers like Mouna are reviving faith through action. For them, religious teachings are not just words in a book but a call to stand up for human rights and justice under divine guidance. Despite the challenges, they continue their mission, hopeful that the promise of God’s kingdom on earth will soon be fulfilled.

The bravery of Tunisian believers is inspiring. Seeing believers paving the way for the Imam and the Divine Just State in a so called muslim country is something that always brings me to the state of respect. God bless you
